At Hermannsburg we wish to nurture a sense of family within our boarders. To do this the grade 8s and 9s are paired in rooms, (no large dormitories here!) and each child shares with a scholar each term in order to create better relationships. From grade 10 to 11 the scholars are given more freedom with whom they choose to room, and in grade 12 scholars have their own individual rooms.

Each weekend, activities are arranged for boarders. These range from trips to the beach, outings to regional shopping centres, events arranged by the Hermannsburg Peter-Paul Lutheran Congregation, high-tea with the Principal as well as “veldflieks”, floodlit volleyball and more.

We have a nursing sister who sees the children on a daily basis, and a basic paramedic who is on site should any medical emergencies arise. In the event that a more serious medical problem arises, parents/guardians will be contacted and arrangements will be made for specialist help or transport to a nearby medical facility.
