The aQuellé Hermannsburg Dustbuster

If you enjoyed the aQuellé Mudman Series, you will definitely love the new and exciting aQuellé Dustbuster Series, which starts with the aQuellé Hermannsburg Dustbuster on Sunday 02.02.2020.

Now you can choose to run and cycle as an individual or in a team. If you would like you can just do a trail run. There are different distances to cater for both beginners and serious athletes. The aQuellé Hermannsburg Dustbuster allows participants and their families a wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty of our school and our breath-taking surroundings. The running and cycling tracks are challenging and offer you wonderful views over our school dam and the Mondi Forest.  If you are looking for an introduction to trail running, then the 5 km challenge is just for you. While you are recovering from your event and waiting for the prize-giving you can relax on the lawn under the trees with a drink and some delicious food.  The aQuellé Dustbuster is a welcome distraction from busy city life and a perfect setting for a day out.

The Dustmite Challenge

The Mudskipper challenge has now changed to the Dustmite challenge. Children from 2 – 12 years can enter the Dustmite challenge on different levels. They can cycle and run around our exquisite school campus and learn to master a very challenging obstacle course.  Along the way a waterslide and 3 gladiator-style jumping castles are waiting to be conquered.  Remember that you have to wear a helmet and shoes for safety!

Registration time is at 7:00. The first 150 entries will receive a T-shirt.  You may enter on the school website.

Individual competitors in the Hermannsburg Mudman over the years have included Rebecca van der Linde, Springbok athlete Russell Kennedy, Ocean Warrior Matt Bowmen, Olympic silver medallist Terrence Parkin, Roan Exelby, Alan Martin, Carol Rolando, Jean-Paul van der Linde, Terence Mitchell, Alida Schutte, Anton Storm, Lee Gumming, Ken Curr and Suzette Botha.

School teams have always been most welcome at Mudman, and in the past Hermannsburg have been winners of the schools’ challenge.

“Athletes can compete as individuals or in teams of three. The series is primarily aimed as a fundraiser for the hosting schools: Hermannsburg, Cordwalles, Epworth,  and Eston. Both junior and senior schools, as well as corporates, are encouraged to take up the challenge of taming the aQuellé Mudman.

“With great prizes up for grabs and a mudskipper event for the kiddies, this series is a great day out for the whole family.”

Thank you to all our sponsors:

To all members of the School Board, HMB School Trust, The Peter-Paul Congregation and Parents who participated in so many ways, a big THANK YOU!
